As of 2/12/12 I had reached my 2 years & 4 months post big chop date. On 2/1/12 I decided to get starter dreadlocks because I was tired of wearing my lose hair due to the fact that I didnt know how to braid and didnt know anyone to braid my hair. I was also tired of going to the salon for "the heat "(blowouts/ flat iron) and trims from people that really didnt know what they were doing or hell probably didnt care about what they were doing. In result to the salon visits, I lost inches from terrible cuts instead of trims or ended up with a little heat damage. When I got my starter locks my hair was about 8-9" long and I did have to cut about 5" from front and sides only which left me with about 3-3 1/2" in those areas
